Scandalous Minnie Mouse Display

Minnie Mouse never looked more attractive thanks to Barney’s department store in NYC. The new holiday window display is set to be a new and improved Minnie Mouse being 5ft 11″ and a whopping size 0. Well while everyone seems to agree that there’s nothing wrong with thin tall women, some are saying there is something wrong with altering the image of a classic children’s cartoon character to fit in with the “IN” crowd.

Ragen Chastain of Los Angeles feels strongly that this is incorrect so much as to set up a petition to the Display Communications Manager of Barney’s to not go through with the upcoming planned holiday window display.

There is nothing wrong with tall thin women. There is something wrong with changing a beloved children’s character’s body so that it looks good in a dress that almost nobody looks good in – adding to the tremendous pressure on young girls and women to attain photoshop perfection. The problem isn’t with Minnie’s body, it’s with a dress that only looks good on a woman who is 5’11 and a size zero.

That little girl who is going to become a 5’4, size 12 woman can’t just become a 5’11, size 0 woman when she wants to fit into a dress that was designed by someone who couldn’t be bothered to make a dress that looks good on someone who is not a model.-Ragen Chastain (more…)

Principles of a Free Society

In a truly free society there are a few principles we should live by. These truths have become very evident in the recent years on interventionism by the U.S. government in policies, laws and the policing of the world. I guess it doesn’t surprise me that they are not clear to the masses due to the extreme conditioning we citizens have gone through since our childhood.

If these simple principles were at the forefront of our political beliefs we would see prosperous longevity in our economy and in our happiness as a whole. And as opposed to many other attempts at sound policy these principles cost the country absolutely nothing. I wish to outline these principles.

As a government we should refrain from forcing issues upon others because with every force there is a counterforce. Nor should we defeat enemies by force of arms for even when violent actions are well intentioned at first these actions always rebound on ourselves. This has been evident in recent years with our various entanglements with the Middle East. It does no one good economically nor does it any good for national prosperity.

In dealing with the issue of violence it should be of only the last possible resort for survival. In victory over the enemy we shouldn’t rejoice and declare victory as a triumph but instead with our heads held low in despair. While yes we may have found ourselves in a situation with only one option of survival we shouldn’t be proud of our victory because then we are also proud of the confrontation. This is a sign of men hungry for power. (more…)

Election Year Money Printing Scheme Courtesy The FED

Well it’s that time again. The temperatures are dropping, the kids are back in school, and the smell of bullshit is in the air. The bullshit and time of year I speak of is none other than presidential election time with false positive economic signs to boot. The tactic is what has become an unfortunately recurring one from the Federal Reserve. Ben Bernanke is at it again printing more money we don’t have to boost the economy. Of course though it doesn’t boost the economy it only drowns it more. He seriously cannot be this foolish to believe printing more money will positively boost the economy.

At one time in my life I believed Bernanke and predecessor Greenspan to be ignorant and overly optimistic of the Fed’s role in economics. But I have found I was being too friendly and rather overly optimistic myself. Here again just in time to artificially boost the economy to help Obama win re-election. (I wonder what deals Bernanke received in exchange for future Fed criminal disasters).

QE3 is the name of this new round of money printing. What can we do to prevent it from happening one might ask. Well I’m positive we can’t stop this round but we can spread the news that we know what’s going on and we won’t be fooled so easily. We can and should contact our congressman with our opposition to QE3 to let it be known. Spread the word! Printing money does not work and never has worked in the past!

In Defense Of Clint Eastwood

A few days ago you might have encountered or at least heard of  the speech Clint Eastwood gave at the RNC. Since then, well almost immediately after, his appearance went under a lot of scrutiny which in turn furthered my belief that the human species never truly matures as far as the brain is concerned. Many including jesters John Stewart and Stephen Colbert insulted Eastwood, laughing at his speech, pointing out his age which by the way the left would sing an entirely different tune say if it was Morgan Freeman declaring loudly that such behavior  is agist.

I used to enjoy Stewart and Colbert. I defended them as jesters but now I see their true colors based on their obsession with Obama (even after consistently siding with anti-war movements while their “saviour” and “promiser of change” president continues war and even worse sending drone attacks that slaughter innocent children in Pakistan) and now see them as political leftist goons. Ron Paul Rally Tampa, Florida 26th August 2012

On my travels to Tampa last weekend a lot of thoughts ran around my head. I am a Libertarian and I know this very well, but I wanted to see how other Libertarians and Libertarian leaning Republicans behave and respond to the many questions and attacks Libertarians undergo. I found that Libertarians are a rather diverse group which in essence is what being a Libertarian is all about, individuality and the rights thereof. Some of us are keen on science while others are more keen on religion. This is a big dividing factor between most of us in this party. I myself am an atheist an anarchist and a strong advocate for evolution. While many others still believe in a god of some sort. This causes a rift between the pro-choice and pro-life individuals among us. This being said we are all in favor of individual liberty, little or no government, a strong desire to end the Federal Reserve, very similar if not exact views on foreign affairs (especially dealing with war and military spending), and we all seem to love Ron Paul.

The Paul Fest was an excellent experience for the lot of us, I’m sure most attendees would agree, but the bigger event was the Ron Paul rally at the University of South Florida Sun Dome, which took place on Sunday August 26th 2012 in Tampa, Florida. At the rally we saw many esteemed speakers from the likes of the highly influential Lew Rockwell, Barry Goldwater Jr., and many others along with a couple musical performances. (more…)

Cuban Punk Rocker Gorki Aguila And The Truth About Capitalism vs Crony Capitalism

Lately anyone who has a Facebook or Twitter account has seen a lot of opposition towards capitalism. Even among the wealthy celebrities who wouldn’t be wealthy nor even a celebrity without the helping hand of capitalism find the romance in being anti-capitalist. Here’s the thing kids you’ve got it all terribly wrong. For one thing you’re speaking about your opposition towards CRONY capitalism not true capitalism. Does my love of a free market make me appear square? Greedy? As your enemy? If your answer to any of those questions is yes then you are a sheep (or a bona fide communist in which case I can and will respect your views because they’re not hypocritical). If you are reading this on you iPad or Mac Book then you my friend are a sheep among the sheeple and I AM more punk rock than you ever will be!

Hmm did I strike a chord? If so, good. Crony capitalism is corporatism gone incredibly wrong. You wish to occupy Wall Street but I’m afraid you are off the mark. You need to travel to Washington D.C. There is where the source lays, not on Wall Street. Your government you wish to provide more power too is the source of your outrage. And it’s so terrible how sheep-like they actually make you look when you go after Wall Street because they told you to. That’s right the government blamed you for the real-estate bubble burst, for the bailouts and for the poor economy. What they don’t tell you is that they were behind it all and when the bubble burst they took us deeper by bailing out the banks that they also blamed. This is brilliant work by both the Bush and Obama administration. To be able to cause such economic destruction and then turn around and blame the innocent and have the innocent actually believe them is a brilliant play by the U.S. government. Sure the citizens after a bit of time didn’t want to take the blame anymore so they turned to Wall Street and put the blame on them. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of crooks in Wall Street but these crooks are in cahoots with your dear government.

Warning From The Future

From the title I contrive two meanings, one Spain is approximately nine hours ahead of my “fair” city of Phoenix, and two what is happening currently in Spain could very well be our own future here in the free States. Midnight Thursday morning Spain started a 24 hour general strike. Barricades were put in place by 12 am and by 1:30 am the police and protesters started to clash. Spain being in an economic funk much like that of Greece (soon to be worse perhaps) with a general unemployment rate of 25% (people under 35 years of age is about 50%) making a total of approximately 5 million unemployed citizens has decided in many ways to protest the system if you will.

What can we expect when the average income is 500 euros a month (almost 700 US dollars) when rent is a=on average 800 euros? Mix in the 20% consumption tax on all products, $2.66 for public transportation, 40% luxury tax on assigned “luxury” items, and and massive unemployment rate. One might think where are all these tax dollars going. The answer is into the pockets of the bankers who the government refuses to let go into bankruptcy. The government officials are too afraid to let their nation go belly up because they will lose everything. So they see it fit better for them to lower wages and raise taxes. The citizens of Spain however have had enough and are undergoing different acts of civil disobedience.

The term civil disobedience may have a bad ring to it but I am proud to say the Spanish give it a positive ring. For example there’s a movement call Yo No Pago (I don’t pay), which is a civil disobedient movement which encourages people to not pay for public transportation (which the prices of seem to continue to rise). This movement has grown in success and is soon to be quite affective. Currently the Yo No Pago Facebook page has 14,816 likes and is growing daily. (more…)

Peace On Earth

World peace, everyone and their mothers, even grandmothers from the dawn of Miss America pageants have been wishing for world peace. What does this mean? Is it attainable? Do you really want to know? Do you really want it or are you too jaded now?

I can’t answer the last question but I can safely bet there are many of us whom are jaded. Looking at the roots behind the various wars in our history, do you think we can do with out them? Of course we can. One great tactic to get to the truth of things is to remove its mask. Once we do that it’s naked and seems like a waste of energy, money, and lives. I’m not going to go on an anti-war rant here today, although I could very well do so. However I will answer the first two questions from the paragraph above. First, What does this mean? World peace is it subjective? In a few ways it is subjective. People define it as unrelenting peace and love for one another. This definition is much harder to achieve due to it’s constant coming back to science (neuroscience) dealing with human behavior. Another more realistic definition due to our painful human condition is that it’s a life where we are protected from harm while we have all the rights to decide on how we want to live our lives, how we wish to earn a living, how we raise our children and love our spouses, to not have our earnings taken from us from a centralized organization for the claims of the greater good (save law enforcement, schools, and a few other operations that provide a safe existence to protect us from the evil side of the aforementioned human condition), and to be given the option to decide on how successful or unsuccessful we can be with our life choices.
